Doelstelling: De doelstelling van deze bijeenkomst is specifiek gericht op verbetering van snelheid en productiviteit in Engineering Projecten met een case studie van implementatie bij Von Ardenne, Duitsland

VON ARDENNE was founded in 1991 as a spin-off company of the former Dresden Manfred von Ardenne Research Institute. Today the company is a leading manufacturer of equipment for photovoltaic's, architectural glass coating, and other future industries, such as CSP or solar thermal energy, or electron beam applications. Several decades of gathering expertise in the plasma and electron beam technologies, intense R&D and an innovative strength that is closely related to the name VON ARDENNE, enable solutions, which meet highest industrial requirements with regard to quality and productivity.

Like most engineering companies, Von Ardenne operates a complex and diverse project environment for development and customer order fulfillment and the markets demand short project lead times and reliable delivery. In 2007, Von Ardenne realized that traditional project management approaches would not be sufficient to maintain a market leading position and support growth targets. Therefore the company implemented Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) as strategic operations strategy and execution mechanism. Within several months cycle times dropped by 18%, lateness by 33% and revenues increased by 30% while operating expenses rose only by 15%. Von Ardenne continued to significantly improve operative and financial measurements and adopted CCPM and TOC(Theory of Constraints) as the guiding philosophy of the company.

The presentation discusses how Von Ardenne implemented CCPM and shares results. Attendees are encouraged to adopt key elements of the solution, lessons learned and key insights for their companies.
